Privacy Policy of the 19th Jeju Forum

This privacy policy explains how the Jeju Forum Secretariat (the Secretariat hereafter) collects, uses, and protects your personal information for the 19th Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity (the Jeju Forum hereafter). We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea.
 
■ Personal Information Collection
The Secretariat collects a minimal amount of personal information for the purpose of registration, consultation, service registration, and payment for participation in the Jeju Forum, and obtains consent for such collection. The personal information we collect includes name, passport number, gender, date of birth, nationality, mobile number, and email address. If the participant is under the age of 14 years, we will also collect information regarding their legal agent (name, date of birth, sex, and mobile number of the legal agent).
 
■ Purpose of Collection and Use
The personal information collected by the Secretariat is used for the following purposes:
  ·Registering participants for the Jeju Forum and identity verification related to the Jeju Forum.
  ·Responding to inquiries and requests related to the Jeju Forum.
  ·Service registration purposes, such as arranging accommodations and transportation for participants.
  ·Processing payments for participation in the Jeju Forum, including bank account information.
  ·Providing information in various forms such as newsletters, notifications, and announcements regarding the Jeju Forum.

 
■ Period of Retention and Use
The personal information collected by the Secretariat will be retained and used only for the period necessary to achieve the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by applicable laws or regulations. Once the purpose has been achieved, the personal information will be destroyed without delay, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea.
 
■ Personal Information Destruction
The Secretariat will destroy unnecessary personal information and files according to the Personal Information Protection Act, Article 16 (Methods of Destroying Personal Information) under the responsibility of the personal information manager. Personal information in electronic files shall be permanently erased so as not to allow the restoration of data. Other records, printouts, paper documents, and media containing personal information, other than those referred to in subparagraph 1, shall be shredded or incinerated.
 
■ Security Measures
The Secretariat takes appropriate technical, administrative, and physical security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. We use firewalls, access control procedures, and other security measures to safeguard your personal information. 

■ Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties
The Secretariat does not disclose your personal information to third parties, except in the following cases:
  ·When we have obtained your prior consent.
  ·When required by law or court order.
  ·When necessary to protect the life, body, or property of a person and obtaining your consent is difficult.
  ·When necessary for statistical or academic research purposes, and the personal information is provided in a form that does not identify you.
 
■ Rights of the Data Subject
You have the following rights with respect to your personal information collected and processed by the Secretariat:
  ·The right to access your personal information.
  ·The right to request correction or deletion of your personal information.
  ·The right to withdraw your consent for the collection and use of your personal information.
  ·The right to restrict the processing of your personal information.
  ·The right to data portability.
